Research and Academic Interests: Catholic formation, Special Character and succession planning in Catholic schools; Pakeha spirituality; curriculum development and validity in assessment
Brendan has been a Catholic educator for over 20 years, with extensive praxis as a Religious Education teacher, Head of Department (RE) and Director of Religious Studies. He has served as a Religious Education Co-ordinator in three parishes, running sacramental and religious education programmes for children.
His formation and teaching within the Catholic tradition is influenced by the charism of John Baptiste De La Salle,St Dominic, Jean-Claude Colin, Catherine McAuley and Edmund Rice.
Brendan has also held leadership roles in suicide prevention and international development.
His interests include landscaping, meditation, preaching, gardening, historical biographies, travel writing and pilgrimage.
