Maya has been working higher education for over 26 years, working as a lecturer, researcher and concurrently managing a programme or unit. She has experienced higher education in different country-contexts, such as the Philippines, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand. 

 

Her published works are in the areas of higher education leadership and management, community engagement and development and international education. She is occasionally invited to collaborate with scholars from different fields of discipline, and as a reviewer to reputable international journals in education. She was an ACU Honorary Fellow from 2010 to 2018.

 

Her present role in TCI is encouraging her to explore research in adult religious education and pastoral leadership.
