The Catholic Institute

Short, accessible videos on matters of faith with questions for group discussion

For Teachers

In response to requests from schools wanting short, inexpensive professional development courses in RE, TCI has developed Faith Matters.

Main Features

There are 4 Faith Matters presentations a term.

Each topic in the Faith Matters series begins with a 5-10 min video presentation.

Group discussion questions are provided to stimulate discussion after the presentation.

Readings and links to other resources are included on the presentation page for those who wish to use them.

It will take between 45-60 mins to complete each Faith Matters presentation with group discussion.

How does it work?

♦ You will need internet access as the presentations and questions are accessed online

♦ You will need either a group leader or facilitator to print the questions for participants, set up the presentation and facilitate the discussion

♦ When you have registered your school or parish, you will receive a login and password to enable access to the four presentations for the term in which you have registered

♦ The login/password can be shared with all teachers and parents in a school or anyone in a parish so they can access the presentations for the duration of the term.

♦ Schools can either run the PD sessions for an hour after school 4 times a term or set aside a half day for PD in RE and view/discuss all four presentations at one time.

For Parishioners

Faith Matters is also a great resource for Parish discussion groups.

For Young People

Faith Matters is a great opportunity to meet together, learn about your faith and discuss all things Catholic.
